Thank you @soda for publishing your formula!
I also wanted to start making my own plates based on your methods.
But I have a few questions regarding the finalizing step.
What do you mean by formaldehyde prehardened after exposure? Do I put the plates in just formaldehyde or do I use a hardening bath that includes formaldehyde? I found following recipe:
Formaldehyde (37%) 10ml
Potassium Bromide 2g
Sodium Carbonate (anhydrous) 5g
Deionized Water 1L
And what exactly does the hardening bath do exactly? Does it prevent that the gelatin could be „wiped“ accidentally with my fingers? Or is there anything else?
Do I rinse the plates after hardening?
And what bleach do I use after the GP2 developer? Do I use the ferric bleach you mention later for color holography?
Sorry for all those questions, but everything is quite new, even after reading through many resources. Because there is always stuff I learn that i haven’t heard of.
Could your emulsion also be spin-coated on glass plates? Or does it need get pressed on the glass?
Thank you and best regards
