Introduction Post

Post by seeknothing »

Hello all,

I didn't see a better place to put this, so I'm posting it here. I've lurked on the forum on and off since about January of this year. When I was a kid I really loved holograms, and recently this interest has been re-illuminated in me.

I am particularly interested in the fine art application of holography; especially figures and portraiture, but also abstracts that could never exist in other physical mediums. Some of my favorite holographers include August Muth, Melissa Crenshaw, and Fred Unterseher.

My background is in customer service / sales, and my education is in philosophy. But, I am considering pursuing a master's in photonics and optics. I really wish to become involved in the community, and to bring together my professional work with this interest.

Nice to meet you all!

Best,
T

Suggest contacting Augie directly in Santa Fe. Very much worth a visit if you’re serious and maybe he’ll give you some guidance. Melissa is in Vancouver CA and maybe think about contacting her directly as well. Sadly, Fred has been gone for a few years. Good luck!

No problem. My experience in holography has been not to hesitate to go directly to the source of inspiration. Whenever I haven’t, I’ve regretted it. BTW that CA is Canada.
